Start a program that supports proper hand hygiene in the classroom. Here’s how.

Meet with your child’s teacher. If a hand hygiene program doesn’t exist, offer to start one.

Check the school’s supply list. Does it include a product such as PURELL® Instant Hand Sanitizer? If not, ask the principal to add one.

Talk with other parents. Work together to create interest in the program.

Involve school personnel. Talk to science, health, phys ed and home ec teachers. Also consult the food service staff, school nurse, teacher’s aides and groups like the PTA.

Volunteer in the classroom. It’s the best way to get the program off to a great start.
